The SafeTrade system is the safest way to trade your video games on BegBorrow. I recommend using the SafeTrade system when your Trading Partner has no feedback, or negative feedback, and when trading new, more valuable titles.

How It Works:

When a user proposes a SafeTrade, they will be asked to select a Cash Guarantee Amount. In addition, they must provide valid credit card information. The name on the card must match the name on the BegBorrow account, and the billing address must match the shipping address on the BegBorrow account.

The Trade proposal then sent to the other party for approval. They have three options, approve the SafeTrade, decline the SafeTrade and propose a Standard Trade, or decline the trade. If they decline the SafeTrade and propose a Standard Trade, the offer will be sent back to the originator to approve or decline this change. If the SafeTrade is approved, both users will have the Cash Guarantee Amount charged to their credit cards.

At this point, the trade has been approved. Both users have 25 days to exchange games, and leave feedback for their trading partner. If both users leave positive feedback within these 25 days, the Cash Guarantee Amount is refunded to them, and the $2.00 trade fee is charged to both users. If both users do not leave positive feedback within the 25 day window, BegBorrow will become involved. At this point, Cash Guarantees will be returned at the sole discretion of BegBorrow, on a case by case basis.

There are three factors that improve your chances of a successful trade with the SafeTrade system.

1. The willingness to provide valid credit card information, and pay the $2.00 trade fee indicates that your trading partner is serious about the trade, and is old enough to have a credit card.
2. The Billing name and address for the credit card must match the name and address on the BegBorrow account. This amounts to "Address Verification" for your trade.
3. The Cash Guarantee provides motivation for your trading partner to complete your trade faithfully, and in a timely fashion. You should choose the Cash Guarantee Amount to be high enough to deter your trading partner from scamming you. For example, when trading an older game, a guarantee amount of $10 or $20 should be sufficient. However, when trading a hot new release, the Guarantee Amount should be $40 or $50. Try to match the Guarantee Amount with the going price for the game you are trading.

The SafeTrade system was created to offer our users a safer alternative to standard trades. Many of our users have requested to send their games to BegBorrow, and for us to send them out after both games had arrived. The SafeTrade system provides the same level of trade security, for a much smaller cost that this "Double Shipping" option. The $2.00 trade fee would not even cover the additional shipping leg involved with this method of trading - not to mention the longer delay in receiving your new game. Terms And Agreement

You, the user, agree to pay all fees stated on this website, related to the SafeTrade System. This includes the 2.00, and the Cash Guarantee Amount.

All decisions made by BegBorrow regarding SafeTrades are binding, and not subject to appeal.

Cash Guarantees are returned when both trading partners leave positive feedback about a trade, within 25 days of agreeing to the trade. After 25 days without positive feedback from both users, your Cash Guarantee may be forfeited. Refunds of the Cash Guarantee after 25 days is at the sole discretion of BegBorrow, on a case by case basis, and is not subject to appeal.
